The Fred Hampton Free Store in the Lower 9th Ward is a community hub offering a free thrift store, skate rink, and gathering space rooted in solidarity and mutual aid. Beyond daily operations, it serves as a grassroots disaster relief center, transforming into a shelter and supply hub during crises, with efforts extending across Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. The Free Store also hosts organizing efforts and events, providing the only all-ages venue in Greater New Orleans and supporting radical, queer, punk, and skate communities alongside partner organizations.
